Generally, I'm interested in the role of interaction between host immunity and microbes in the diverse biological phenomena; immune boosting by mucosal vaccination, and pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases, such as colitis, arthritis, and asthma. To explain the relationship, I mainly focus on various innate immune responses against microorganisms.
In addition, I'd like to do a practical science that directly helps human health. As part of that, I'm trying to discover effective herbal extracts based on oriental medicine. The diseases for which treatment is efficacious would be various. For example, asthma, rhinitis, food allergy, colitis, arthritis, etc.

Officially, I belong to the Department of Biomedical Sciences. So, my graduate student will enter the graduate student program in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
